Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well – New Cards, Rarities & What’s Coming

As 2025 draws to a close, fans of Disney Lorcana have plenty to look forward to. With many of the biggest trading card games dropping their final sets of the year, Ravensburger is making sure Lorcana holds its own. Following a strong showing at GenCon, we now have a clearer look at what’s in store for Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well (Set 10), as well as a tantalising glimpse at what lies ahead in early 2026.

Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well – Launches 14 November 2025

The tenth main set in the Disney Lorcana series will be released worldwide on 14 November 2025. As expected, the product range includes a Booster Box, Illumineer’s Trove, sleeved boosters, and two brand new Starter Decks. This time around, the decks will feature Simba & Megara in one, and Judy Hopps & Robin Hood in the other.

Given that Zootopia 2 (or Zootropolis 2 for UK fans) is also releasing in November, it’s no surprise to see characters from that world taking centre stage. The set’s early reveals lean into a detective theme, with a focus on card draw and tactical play.

Initial Reveals and New Additions

The first three cards revealed from Whispers in the Well gave us an exciting glimpse into the new Detective theme: Judy Hopps, Uncovering Clues, Nick Wilde, Persistent Investigator, and an action card titled Putting it all Together. Since then, additional card reveals have continued to roll out, expanding our understanding of the set's mechanics and flavor.

  • Judy Hopps lets you look at the top three cards of your deck and add a Detective character to your hand, both when she enters play and whenever she quests.

  • Nick Wilde features an ability called Case Closed, allowing you to draw a card whenever one of your Detective characters banishes another character in a challenge during your turn.

  • The action card Putting it all Together stops a chosen opposing character from challenging on their next turn and also lets you draw a card.

Each of these cards rewards players for maintaining momentum and smart deck building, giving Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well a strong strategic identity.

New Rarities in Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well: Epic and Iconic

Ravensburger is introducing two new rarities to sit alongside the existing six (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Legendary, and Enchanted).

  • Epic cards come with frameless artwork, a vivid rainbow foil finish, holofoil symbols, and tinted text. They’re rarer than Legendary cards but not quite as scarce as Enchanted ones, offering collectors and players something beautiful to chase that won’t be quite as elusive.

  • Iconic cards, however, raise the bar. These full-art beauties feature a special lore star foil pattern and 3D hot stamping. They are rarer than Enchanted cards and clearly designed with collectors in mind.

Iconic cards made their debut in Fabled and will continue to appear in Whispers in the Well, showcasing how Disney Lorcana is evolving not just as a game, but as a long-term collector’s platform.

New Card Type and the “Whisper” Mechanic

Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well

One of the most intriguing developments in Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well is the appearance of a new card style and keyword ability.

Some of the revealed cards, thought to be exclusive to the Starter Decks, are designed with a torn parchment aesthetic. The top half contains the artwork with a vignette overlay, while the bottom half holds the card’s abilities. This design gives off a storybook feel that fits perfectly with Lorcana’s magical theme.

A new keyword, Whisper, has also been spotted. Although the full rules text hasn’t been officially revealed, early speculation suggests that it involves placing a card beneath another card with the Whisper keyword, potentially introducing hidden or stacked effects. This mysterious new mechanic adds another layer of depth to Lorcana gameplay.

Honourable Mention: Winterspell Coming in 2026

Though Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well is the main focus right now, Ravensburger also teased the first Lorcana set of 2026, titled Winterspell. Set for release in Q1 2026 (January–March), it promises “flurries of fun” and more content from Lilo & Stitch.

The real highlight is the likely debut of Experiment 624, Angel, the pink counterpart to Stitch, first introduced in Lilo & Stitch: The Series (2006). Her arrival in Winterspell is a natural fit and something fans have long been waiting for.

Final Thoughts on Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well

With Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well, Ravensburger continues to expand the game’s narrative depth, gameplay variety, and collector appeal. From the introduction of new rarities like Epic and Iconic, to the tease of new mechanics and card designs, it’s clear that Disney Lorcana is being built for both casual players and long-term fans alike.

As we move into the final stretch of 2025 and prepare for what 2026 has in store, now’s the perfect time to dive into Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well, whether you’re playing, collecting, or simply enjoying the growing lore.
